There are two main variations:
- Tom Yum Goong Nam Sai (Clear): A lighter version where the broth remains clear, retaining all the bright aromas without excessive richness.
- Tom Yum Goong Nam Khon (Creamy): Coconut milk or evaporated milk is added to this version. This softens the spiciness and acidity, making the flavor milder, creamier, and more enveloping.
